First immigration appointments booked for this week – week commencing 21/12/20 – well actually 28/12/20. Still more looking at areas to live. It is hard to choose areas as most places have good and bad locations.
Christmas came and went – again very sad to not be with family – many tears shed. Positive mental attitude required and our xmas lunch cooked by my friend was fabulous. No presents exchanged at this end except the box of choccies from the supermarket.
Ongoing attempts to get our padron registered at Competa town hall – necessary for lots of things like buying a car. Our inability to speak Spanish is definately hindering us now.
The immigration process had changed in the last half of the year. Now you have to have an appointment with immigration at which you take the required form and proof of income etc – when you meet the requirements they give you a piece of paper with your NIE number on. The next step is a police appointment at which they take your fingerprints and information of your passport, NIE and a passport photo.
At least me and my partner have the first stage done and our friends are in the system ready for their first appontments booked in early January
Still marking as usual, tight through xmas, but without the added hassle of having to do 9-5 in the office.
